SERVICES & TIMES
Below is a summary of the weekly meetings that take place at Judson. For a schedule of upcoming services and events, see our church calendar.
The main gathering of the Christian Church has been on Sunday—the Lord’s Day—since New Testament times. At Judson, our Sunday mornings begin with Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 AM (except during the summer break), continue with coffee and fellowship in our library at 10:30, and culminate with a worship service at 11:00. Our worship service includes singing (a blend of traditional and newer music), reading of God's Word, children's message, corporate prayer, and preaching. Most weeks, the children leave part way through the service for children’s worship. On the first Sunday of each month, we also observe Holy Communion.
Our choir practices at 5:50 on Wednesday evenings. In addition to singing together, they have a whole lot of fun and act as a spiritual small group, sharing prayer needs and supporting each other. Following choir, the Midweek Worship Service takes place at 7:15 in our chapel. This smaller, rather informal service includes prayer, praise songs, and a reflection from God’s Word. Wednesday evening activities break for the summer.
During the school year, the youth group meets on Monday evenings at 7:00, upstairs in the youth room, for games, Bible study, and discipleship. In addition, the youth enjoy service projects, retreats, and other special events throughout the year. For more information about the youth group, see their facebook page.
On certain holy days (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, etc.), we have special worship services. These often involve gathering together with Christians of other traditions and denominations. In addition, throughout the year, we have a number of dinners, service opportunities, concerts, and other events. For upcoming items, see our church calendar.
